Esther

The theme of last Sunday's Esther was God's grace. We had a great evening discussing what it is to live in the reality of this grace, particularly as women. We recognised that it is by God's grace we are who we are.

God wants us to live in His grace and so we discussed some of the ways we do this
  • Through prayer
  • Chatting with friends,
  • Staying in close fellowship with others
  • Worshipping
  • Reading God's word
  • Through forgiving others
  • Reminding ourselves of God's promises and of His faithfulness to us in the past.

This was a big challenge to all of us and so it was great to spend time in prayer asking God to help us receive more of His amazing grace.
The next Esther is on Sunday 10th March and is our pottery painting social.  I have already received orders of pottery items to paint so please do not delay in letting me know your choices (the deadline for orders is Sunday 3rd March).  Make sure you invite your friends to what will be a very relaxed and fun evening.

With much love, Louise

Our recent Esther meeting, held at Rachel's house, was well attended and we all enjoyed some chocolate cake and other goodies.
We talked about friendship and its importance in our lives: we should have friends in and out of the church, not to be seen as potential converts
but as people to get alongside, be friends to and to enjoy time with.

We talked about "Just walk across the room",  living a 3D lifestyle which involves developing friendships, finding out about other people's lives and  being open to hear what the Holy Spirit is doing. It comes with a realisation that God has placed us in the situation we are in, with the people that we come into contact with.

We were encouraged to choose one person we would try and develop our friendship with, not just to invite them to church event, but to show God's love and compassion and enjoy time with.

If you've never been to Esther, (ladies only, sorry!), it's held on the second Sunday evening in the month, 7.30 pm.  Do come along, it's very friendly, welcoming and fun.  We regularly hold socials, a meal out somewhere or crafty event.

The next meeting is on Sunday 10th February, 7.30 pm.
