Street Pastors/Prayer Partners

Street Pastors is a joint church outreach ministry in the village. Street Pastors go out on patrols four or five times a month in the afternoons and evenings with prayer support back at base and from home. Currently Ben & myself represent BFC as Street Pastors along with Sue as a Prayer Partner, the rest of the team is currently made up with others from St Mary’s and the URC. We are also excited to be having Alix joining us as a Street Pastor in the near future. When we go out onto the streets we are going under a blanket of prayer support, this usually involves a couple of people praying back at base (The URC) along with people praying from home. We draw our confidence in boldly speaking to people and are kept safe by the prayers of these guys; they are great! We have had some great conversations with people in the community while on patrol and our presence and aim is well known on the streets.
What I would like you to consider is if this is a ministry you could be involved in. This could be either as a Street Pastor or a Prayer Partner. One of the main things I would like to see BFC involved in is prayer support. We are so great at prayer as a church and we have a heart for the community we live in, why not put those two things together and create action. This support could either be at the URC praying with others from different churches while we are out on patrol or as prayer support in your own home. I would love to have more people praying from home while we are out in the evenings. You would be contacted via phone and informed of anything we have come across that evening and where we are planning to patrol next and what we require prayer for. Do you think this is something you could do?
Great things always come out of fervent prayer & action combined.
That is what street pastor’s is about!
