Prayer week 2015

Thursday morning is the start of our annual week of prayer so let me set the context of that prayer to explain why we should all get involved.
·         We live in a community where most people do not know God and who destiny is an eternity away from all goodness or hope.

·         We live in a world that needs graphic photos of dead children before they even accept there might be a problem.

·         We live in a generation of kids who aren’t hearing about Jesus.

·         We live in a culture that craves celebrity style over substance, who celebrates the scandal.

·         We live in a nation who is undoing the very fabric of culture through the redefinition of marriage, family and parenting.
And the answer to all these problems is the gospel of Jesus Christ – the good news that we so often hide away and only bring out on Sundays.  Our response to the needs all around us shouldn’t be to bury our heads in the sand (or in the TV or internet) - it should be prayer especially corporate prayer.  The prayer of a righteous man (and woman of course) is powerful and effective.  James 5:16.
Prayer meetings are always amazing encounter moments with God, but they are also spiritual warfare moments as we together call on God to ‘rend the heavens and come down’ (Isaiah 64:2) and to bring in His Kingdom through His church.
So let me ask you again, are you up for a fight?  Will you come and pray with the church as we seek God and His kingdom?  The times and venues are below.  See what you can come to, bring your kids if you need to and engage as our church seeks our God for the good we are longing for.
With love,
