Three weeks on...

We wanted to be honest with you.  We didn’t want a succession of “Hurrah Henrys” who would say that everything is wonderful – 100% good with 0% negative feelings.  Because change – truly significant change is never like that.  Instead it feels like we are required to carry two opinions that at one level seem to contradict one another.

Therefore, how am I feeling right now?  Well, we are genuinely sad and genuinely excited both at the same time.
Because I will miss BFC.  I will miss the members of the church that have been such a support over the past 12 years – some have been there all that time, others have come in and been a blessing in their time.  It has been wonderful to be amongst believers who are resting in God’s grace and yet striving for more of the Spirit…more opportunities to give, witness, seek God and build His kingdom.

I have loved seeing friends stepping up in faith – some for new places, others for new ways to show love, service and grace in this community.
And yet I am utterly excited about us moving on.  I know that an adventure with God is full of moments like this; when you receive and enjoy something good, seek to do good yourself…and then God points to something new and announces a change.  And as with the people of faith in the Bible and church history, it is often going not knowing what awaits us.

I don’t know what home God has for us, I don’t know which schools our kids will be in, I don’t know most of the church I will be serving; but I know God is good, that He is faithful and that when He calls, He equips.  Most importantly, I know that as we go and make disciples, Jesus has promised to be with us even to the very end of the age.  So we go with faith not in my abilities or competence, but in our God who provides, guides and goes with us wherever we end up.

So please continue to pray for us as we hold these two emotions together and as God continues to reveal His Will and plan for our lives.
